Welcome to Hsinchu String Group !
This web site provides information of research activities on string theory in Hsinchu area. Hsinchu String Group members are from National Center for Theoretical Sciences (NCTS) located on National Tsing-Hua University (NTHU) campus, and National Chiao-Tung University (NCTU). NCTS is hosted jointly by NCTU and NTHU. These two universities are next to each other, and easily accessible on foot.
Our regular activities are Hsinchu String Seminar at NCTU held bi-weekly on Tuesdays and NCTS HEP Lecture Series two-three times in a semester. Please see the Schedule for more detail.
Besides local activities in Hsinchu, string researchers in whole Taiwan form one big group together: Please visit Taiwan String Group Web Site for more information. Researchers in other cities such as Taipei, Chungli and Taichung often visit Hsinchu, and vice versa. Many foreign visitors of Taiwan String Group also visit several of these cities. It takes only 1-2 hours to go from one city to another, so please do consider visiting Hsinchu when you visit Taiwan. Hsinchu has its own taste which you cannot experience in anywhere else !
We also have joint activities with high energy physics and cosmology researchers in NCTS, NCTU and NTHU. One of the main activities is NCTS-NTHU HEP Journal Club.
