The 4th Asian Workshop on First-Principles Electronic Structure
Calculations will be
held in Taiwan at International Conference Hall,
Condensed Matter & Physics Building,
National Taiwan University, Taipei on
29-31 October 2001.

This workshop series is devoted to recent advances
in the first-principles
electronic structure calculations mainly in condensed matter physics.
Activities in this field have
been promoted recently in Asian countries and collaborations and
exchange of researchers have
been gradually growing. The main purpose of this workshop series is to
promote communication
among Asian countries and to advance the research activities in the
electronic structure calculations.

The coming workshop follows the first
one held in Tsukuba
(1998), second one in Seoul (1999) and third one in Tsukuba again
(2000). Besides participants
from Taiwan, Japan, Korea and other
Asian countries, several leading researchers from USA and Europe will be
invited.
