Academic Activities
Action areas for NCTS sponsored academic activities, include
- regular daily, weekly, or bi-weekly informal discussions or journal club among members of the focus group,
- regularly scheduled seminars at different locations,
- monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, or annual meetings for the entire focus group,
- mini-schools, small workshops, or summer schools targeting at students, postdoctoral associates, junior scientists, or/and established members of the focus group,
- international conferences,
- more opportunities for advanced graduate students, postdoctoral associates, and junior scientists to attend regional or other international meetings and schools,
- visits by domestic or international visitors,
- KITP-type of international workshop, and
- international collaborations.
Each focus group, based on its needs and goals, will determine its own priority on its course of actions and the appropriate scientific activities. The priority agreed upon by the focus group will also dictate the performance evaluation during its peer assessment.
