Nurturing Program

In addition to existing research field, NCTS is eager to promote the growth of new developing research fields as well as promising young scientists in the community.  Related projects are briefly described below.

1.  Seed Project is to support new research direction or research area where there is a relatively smaller representation in the local community.  Supported areas should not be covered already by the existing Thematic Groups, Experimental Collaboration Program or Interdisciplinary Program. Each team shall be led by at least three and normally no more than five PIs, concentrating on a specific and promising direction in the period of support (one year for each application, renewable subject to review). Funding for workshops, travel or visitors for international collaboration can be requested. Call for application will be made once a year.  (Use Form 401 for application)

2.  NCTS Best Postdoc Paper Award is to encourage theoretical postdoctoral researchers working in Taiwan to conduct research on important subjects and to carry out influential research works. Call for proposal will be announced towards the end of the year. (Use Form 402 for application)

3.  Travel Grant is to support PhD students and postdocs to go to international conferences to present their works. Applications are accepted at January, April, July and October of the year. (Use Form 403 for application)

Awarded students can be supported to come to the center to partcipate in the research activities organized by the center, to travel abroad to present a paper, or to join one of the center scientists in their research projects on frontier research topics.  (Use Form 304 for application)
