Particle Phenomenology

III. Major Directions:

In this new 2-year proposal of TG1 for particle phenomenology, we would like to study detailed phenomenology for new physics models, e.g. the gauged two Higgs doublet model (G2HDM) and Georgei-Machacek model.

TheG2HDM, constructed recently by Wei-Chih Huang, Yue-Lin Sming Tsai and T.C. Yuan (arXiv:1512.00229, JHEP04(2016)019), addresses several current topics in particle physics including the popular two Higgs doublet model, discrete symmetry, dark matter physics, extra gauge bosons, etc. Thus, the model is quite involved but nevertheless very rich in phenomenology, which warrants to be explored further. We propose to study the following:

(1)    Dark matter – Global fit using all available latest data from relic density, direct detection, indirect detection, and colliders.

(2)    Phenomenology of extra Higgs bosons at the LHC and future colliders like CEPC.

(3)    Phenomenology of heavy fermions at LHC and future colliders like CEPC.

(4)    Phenomenology of heavy complex gauge fields W(p,m) and extra neutral gauge bosons Z’, g’ associated with the new SU(2)HÄU(1)’ at LHC and future colliders like CEPC.

(5)    Etc.

The GM model has the capacities of giving Majorana mass to neutrinos and having strong hVV couplings. As pursued mainly by CW Chiang in the past few years, we have found a lot of distinctive features that can be probed at the LHC. We plan to continue to have a more thorough exploration about the model. More explicitly, we have the following projects in mind:

(1)    Double Higgs production at the LHC.

(2)    Phenomenology of extra Higgs bosons at lepton colliders, such as ILC and CEPC.

(3)    Renormalization of the model and radiative corrections to various processes.

(4)    Further extension of the model to include dark matter candidates and CP violation.

(5)    Etc.
